Mexico a Famous 5 playlist

Mexico a Famous 5 playlist

[Editor’s note] Following the publication of this playlist, Noise artists published a Guide to Mexican Shoegaze, dream & Noise Pop.

First, meet Sadfields. After a fantastic first song, "Falling apart", featured in our May's playlist, the band released 2 weeks ago their first 6 songs' EP/LP. It is excellent. If you like a huge sound, cranked guitars, beautiful melodies, look no further. They are one my favorites at the moment.

Vaya futuro are currently working on their new release that we hope to ear very soon. In the meantime, you can listen to their excellent LP from 2014, "Ideas A medias". The song proposed here shows the talent of the band as it evolves slowly, carried by the voice of the singer that gives me shivers. I would love to see them live.

Everything is falling apart have a very interesting body of work. They go from electro, folk, Shoegaze, sometimes clumsy, sometimes extremely precise in their sound. They play with genres and sound. I really enjoy their music.

If you like drifting on a cotton cloud, meet Mint Field from Tijuana. They have evolved from post-punk to dream pop. You can listen to their latest song, that will bring you floating into space.

If Stellamaris had a Mexican cousin, it would be Aloe Vera. She does some sweet Lo-fi dream gaze and experimental music. For lovers of rough and unpolished sounds.

If you know other bands, let me know. I would be delighted to do a second playlist.

Note to the reader (July 2018): Since this list has been posted, Noise Artists has started doing country guides to Shoegaze & Dream Pop. The Brazilian guides are scheduled for second semester 2018. Keep an eye on the blog
