August 2018, a "magnificent 7" playlist

Fir Cone children, from Germany, is one of the musical projects of Leonard Donat, Blackjack Illuminist Records label owner. On the Post-Punk side of things, the new LP includes short and peachy songs. "On my plate", featuring Krissy Vanderwoude, is our favorite.

Darker Shapes are a melodic post-rock project from the United States. Their last EP is mesmerizingly beautiful. Here is an extract.

Whhhy!!!! are a new Japanese band that released a few songs on Soundcloud. Thanks to Sandra Saitua for bringing them to our attention. This song, that also features on Sandra's new Soundcloud Playlist. In any case, the melody is so nice to follow and the vocals are something else!

Citrus Cloud are a Dream Pop trio from Phoenix, Arizona. Their last EP is made of 2 very different, but equally good songs. 

Molly are Shoegaze duo from Innsbruck, Austria (in the Alps). Their new single is a good introduction to their music, well worth listening.

Whitelands are a trio Alt-Rockers from London, UK. They present themselves as being "Teens that love music and self-recorded a few songs!". Great songs too, spanning from Alt-Rock to Noise Pop. Thanks to Greg L for the selection.
